If you get stranded by the tide you can sit it out in the little white hut in the middle of this picture taken through the car windscreen. I wouldn't fancy it in rough weather. Holy Island is a small village at the southern end of Lindisfarne Island, with an castle perched on an improbable outcrop of rock. It was done up by Lutyens around 1903 to make modern living accomodation (and had its walled vegetable garden converted to flowers by Gertrude Jekyll.)
