Democracy Camp takes the Square

Parliament Square, London. Sat 18 Oct 2014

 George Barda speaks

'Frack Free Nana of "Nanashire"' listening to the speeches

And a woman with rainbow peace flag poses for me in front of Big Ben

Other protesters watch from outside the area which is now marked out by yellow flags as a 'Safe Space'

More police arriving and form up in small blocks around the square, waiting for the order to charge

While 'Democracy' continues in the centre of the square

More police

Some of the protesters remain on the pavement - the grass is a little muddy for wheelchairs, though some go on it

Environmental campaigner Donnachadh McCarthy speaking

Yet more police arrive and are obviously keen to go into action

The woman with the peace flag again

'Protesting Feels Better than Votin'

Vanessa speaking about the safe spaces and other admin for Democracy camp
