A Day Off - Canal Walk

Grand Union Canal: Wendover and Aylesbury. Mon 25 May, 2009

The Town Hall and Market Square

The Kings Head, now National Trust and no longer a proper pub

Although large areas of good Georgian and ealrier building was demolished in the 1950s and 60s, much of interest remains

St Mary's Square around the church

And there are a few interesting modern buildings,
such as these glass-sided offices in Walton St built in 1982 by GMW Partnership, although the there are too many trees around them to see them clearly

The Aylesbury arm of the canal is hidden away behind a rather less interesting development opposite.
