UCU March for Planet, Pay and Pensions
Whitehall, London. Fri 29 Nov 2019
I ran from the North Terrace of Trafalgar Square to catch up with
the UCU march which was going down Whitehall
University teachers had started thri 8 day strike on Monday and on
Friday they marched from Malet St to a
rally in Westminster, supported by many students.
The are fighting for Equality, Job Security, Fair Workloads and Fair
Pay - and for their pensions
Van Gogh 'Fair Pay - Lend an Ear!'
and 'Monet Would Want More Pay'
People look towards Downing St'
Some Student Climate Strikers were marching with the UCU
and the IWGB University of London branch was on the march
'For a Free Life Everywhere #RiseUp4Rojava'
and the AntiUniversity
The UCU march went on to a rally, while the climate strikers from
their march joined the main student marchers
who had come back to Parliament Square and were blocking the road
junction when I left.
Some of those marching had been on the picket lines at the beginning of
the day.
