I arrived to find police arresting one of perhaps 50 or a hundred
of those sitting down on Westminster Bridge
XR's Red Brigade makes their way across the bridge
There is a large crowd blocking Whitehall
'Like The Sea Level We Rise'
'Time Is Running Out'
Some people are sitting down and a few are locked together
They call for a Citizen's Assembly to get away from short term election
thinking and the influence of hidden money
Some have been warned by police who are standing around them that
they will be arrested. They link hands
One man in a grey suit has two daughters and three charts to show
why he is making his protest
Veterans for Peace protest in front of Field Marshall Viscount Alanbrooke
and the Defence Ministry
'Climate Crisis Impacts Everyone'
People were locked on at the road block on Parliament St
and a woman was being arriested when I returned to Westminster Bridge
A boat sailed downstream through the bridge, turned and came back
upstream with the message 'Tell The Truth'
People were locked and glued in Storey's Gate
And a banner across the top of Tothill St reads 'We're Fucked' as
two politicians walk past
Across Broad Sanctuary the banners read 'No Coal Mines, No Fracking'
and 'Tell The Truth'
People are sitting down in front of Westminster Abbey
and a protest lies back next to a banner 'Wake UP! to a more Beautiful
World'
A rather bold knitted XR Superwoman costume
'Our Future is Going Up in Smoke' and 'No Profit on a Dead Planet'
A woman shows her 'Rebel Love' poster at the road block on Birdcage
Walk
Birdcage Walk
and people dance on Horse Guards Road, with Downing St in the background
