I arrived some time before the protest was due to start but already
a crowd was gathering in the street
and behind so barriers was a small group of Zionists who had come
to oppose the protest
Police were there to protect the Zionists. The Israeli Embassy is
a short distance down the private street at right
One woman had two Israeli flags on her head. Behind her a man shouts
insults at the protesters
They hold posters and shout 'Free Gaza From Hamas', who gained power
in Gaza in a free and fair election
Some of the protesters stop to tell the Zionists the truth about Gaza
and Palestine
Others are gathering in front of the stage waiting for the speeches
The crowd is quite closely packed in front of the stage. Fortunately
the police have closed the road for the protest
As well as the speeches there is music and spoken word and we get
told about a song we are about to hear
Glynn Secker of Jew Against the War on Gaza speaks. THe noise from
the Zionists swelled but stood no chance
of stopping the speeches being heard thanks to a goo PA system
