Police tell the protesters they have to move - so they do, to block
the other carriageway
The begin to move off up Whitehall
A woman holds a poster facing Downing St
and people hold placards and the Homeless Autonomy banner 'occupy
now!'
The march continues up Whitehall
to Trafalgar Square
and down the Strand
with support from DPAC and with two mounted police officers
The march goes towards Covent Garden
The march though Covent Garden
and then turn along Long Acre towards Leicester Square
Police several times try to stop them and make them go different ways
and the horses get rather agitated at times, and I and others on the
street have to jump back out of their way
at least one protester gets a bit crushed, but luckily there are no
serious injuries, though the protesters feel sorry
that the horses are being mistreated. The police stop the protesters on
the corner at the top of Haymarket
completely blocking the road for some minutes and holding up traffic
on the busy route from Picadilly Circus
Police want the protesters to go down Haymarket, but they are determined
to go to the squat on Great Portland St

Eventually the police allow the protest to move on - and stop blocking London
traffic.
I had to leave the march here, and was sorry I could not continue to the
Sofia House squat.
