30th Birthday cake for London City Airport
London City Airport, London. Thu 26 Oct 2017
They prepare to set off
and walk past the airport entrance
and out to the car park
where they stop for a group photograph for the local paper in front
of the airport offices
and I take a few pictures too
Hands over ears - or a finger in them - against aircraft noise - though
some slight fog has stopped flights
They stand waiting while John Stewart goes in to tell the airpor's
Dierector of Public Affairs they have arrived
and he comes down the steps with John Stewart
to take the cake
They decide to pose on the steps
and the cake is handed over
to Liam McKay, the London City Airport Director of Public Affairs
And he invites us all in for tea and cake - but after we have had a piece
there is still plenty left for the Airport office staff
