A Country Weekend

Bolsover Castle, Derbyshire. 14-15 May 2011
 
The Little Castle is a maze of rooms at different levels

With fine panelling, painted walls and ceilings

 

 

and ornate fireplaces

The lack of furniture makes these more obvious 

 

 
 
Many of the pictures have an erotic character

 

 

 

And there are thankfully few of the stuffy portraits that line so many stately homes - but
of course the family had plenty of other places where these hand and still bore the tourists
