Students Against Cuts - Day 2

Parliament Srquare & Embankment, London. Thursday 9 Dec 2010

There was a carnival atmosphere with Rhythms of Resistance playing at the top of Parliament St

The police were still letting people walk up and down Whitehall and along to the NUS official protest on the Embankment

Where the couple of hundred people were getting fed up with people calling for the rally to start

Brendan Barber, TUC General Secretary speaking

Peter Hain, MP

The man who really got a welcome from the smallish crowd was RMT leader Bob Crowe

While I was listening to the speeches, someone rushed up and shouted to the crowd that
police horses had charged the students in Parliament Square, and a number of them had been injured.
I left for Parliament Square.
