CUMBRIAN INTERLUDE: Around Wigton

Wigton, Cumbria. August 2010


 


The fine Georgian church wasbuilt in 1788 to replace a near-derelict Norman church.
Its repainting was organised by Rev John Ford, in the 1950s. His daughter Anna was then just a school kid.
      
Three modern windows have been given to the church by Melvyn Bragg
      
Although I liked them, I was more attracted by some of the older windows
