Brighton Smash Edo Remember Gaza

Brighton. Monday 18 Jan, 2009

The march was stopped just a short distance north of The Level

and addressed by the senior officer who told them he was announcing a Section 14 order to prevent them from

entering the town centre. He said he would be happy for them to have a meeting on The Level

The protesters didn't want to stop at The Level

but in any case the police weren't letting them through to do so

Eventually the police line retreated, but then broke down where the road widened and poeple flooded through

and crossed the lights to The Level, continuing across it and out the other side

As I left, police were taking up position outside likely targets including KFC and McDonald's, but I was tired
and decided it was time to catch the train home
